We love you Bafana Bafana! (and Lewis Hamilton isn’t bad either...)

Oh well, it's inevitable that soccer fever will take hold of you, whether you know anything, or everything about the game. So I guess it's only fitting that DYNA doesn't get left behind! Our faces and our office walls can testify to our patriotism.

This has proven to not only be a fun time in South Africa, but also an educational experience. We can now name all 32 World Cup Countries' flags! (Notwithstanding the Slovenians, Slovakians and Serbians obviously having the same flag designer...)

Bafana might be out of the competition, but they sure did us proud. I was somewhat confused in the first half whether they were playing another team at all...

Some more exciting news from the Cape Town Office – Lewis Hamilton's 2008 F1 McLaren was on display at the Black River Park yesterday. There is a small office rivalry between an ardent Lewis Hamilton fan and an ever loyal Michael Schumacher fan. Neither of the true F1 supporters could witness the spectacle of a car yesterday, so being the thoughtful bunch that we are, we took it upon ourselves to get them a photograph.

CORE & BMS Kick-Off

Heads up everyone! We have two programmes kicking-off just after the conclusion of the World Cup. So, just as the excitement dies down and tourists pack up to go (either as winners or tail between the legs...), we give you an opportunity to give your leaders a Kick-start! Register now on BMS B (starting on the 19th of July), or CORE C (starting on the 21st of July). Contact Dominique (info@dyna-training.co.za) for a registration form if you do not have one already.

PS: Great news – BMS has a new venue! The unbelievably beautiful Devon Valley Hotel in Stellenbosch. The guys are sure to receive proper five star treatment!

Enjoy the Games everyone, see you soon!

Group Five Mentoring Process

What an exciting two days of learning we had. Well done to all the Group Five Graduates that gave their everything on the first day, and the Mentors who gave their entire Friday. Just by looking at the pics below, you'll see the energy in the room. Thank goodness the effectiveness of the Mentors is not judged by the look of the group - Bafana Bafana shirts and all...

I look forward to visiting you guys back at work to see the results. In the mean time - enjoy the pics!

BMS A 2010 - The Conclusion

This is such a telling picture of the atmosphere at BMS A 2010. Thank you to each person that was willing to participate and share your experiences, wisdom, challenges, successes and stories. As Duncan said on Friday afternoon - you guys learn from one another and teach one another. We simply provide the environment, context and add a little fuel to the fire (or is that charcoal briquettes...?).
Well done to Duncan Laing (Achievement Awards Group) and Ben Oosthuizen (Ecowize) who were voted by the rest of the group as Best Leader and Most Improved Individual respectively. Remember to carry a pen with you when you wear your DYNA Cap as people are known to stop you and ask for autographs!
And of course, we have to congratulate RSG - no, not the radio station, but Redee - Steadee - Go! With a big Hoo-Haa they walked off with the Top Team Prize. Well done!
A couple of other memories...
Group Scoring - Who's nailing who?
Conflict Resolution? Not yet...
Working it, but still not resolved...
Resolved - Smiles all round!
Amigdala moment - stay calm Kurt...
Unfortunately we are not able to post any photographs of the Massive changes you are all making back in the workplace, but we trust that those are happening daily. Enjoy applying yourself and making a difference in your environment!

It's Up to Us!

What to do when all of your Supervisors have been through CORE some 8 years ago? What do you do when you want to revisit some of the tools and skills that they learned, but maybe aren't applying as they should.

You refocus your group of Supervisors - It's Up to Us! One day away from the workplace with some interesting discussions. What are the challenges, what are the successes? How do you overcome the challenges and use the successes? What are the fundamentals of Leadership?

AMC Cookware used this opportunity to re-energise their team of Supervisors on the 21st of April 2010 at De Malle Meul in Philadelphia. (What a beautiful venue! We loved the cows hanging around outside. Makes for a nice change compared to City living!)
We had an interesting day with some constructive inputs and left with some definite action plans.
Well done guys - now It's Up to You!

BMS A 2010 - Phase I Memories

Yes We Can!

Thanks to Michellé, that seems to have become the motto of BMS A 2010! We agree - what a great mindset. This is True, and according to our test, certainly not Useless (TBU).

Andrew said it all: "These have been the most intellectually challenging learners that I have experienced on BMS. I've really enjoyed my time with them."

We absolutely concur, and look forward to challenging and stretching you even more on Phase II.

Some of the less serious, but fun moments below...
Koos Kombuis (aka Barry) coached on making the perfect cup of Tea...!
So, what are you going to do about it?

In-depth discussion - but what a view!

Group Discussions

Of course, part of the emotion that is integral to BMS is:
THE COMPETITION
Phase I Team Scores:
4th Red Bulls 1145
3rd Green Peace 1178
2nd Blue Flame 1189
1st Baby Km2 1193
Top Team Phase I: Baby Km2

We are excited about our workplace visits with you and seeing the changes that you have already made as a result of BMS. Beware of the Valley of Excusitis when the changes you are making become...

...PAINFUL!!!
